‘BFI Film Academy – for young aspiring filmmakers’.

Are you 16-19? Passionate about film? Interested in a career in the film industry?

If so, the BFI Film Academy is for you. This course offers you the chance to be part of our future film industry.

As a student of the Film Academy:

Once you have completed the Network course, you will become part of the growing BFI Film Academy alumni network with access to exclusive events and job opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to gain a film qualification on the course.

About our programme:

“Film has the potential to be the most representative and diverse art form of our age – to reflect changing attitudes, people, landscape – but we are not there yet!” BFI on Diversity.

MTR run an inclusive BFI Academy programme, which aims to take positive steps towards encouraging underrepresented groups into the film and media industry and address current inequalities in the industry’s workforce.

All young people are welcome to apply to our BFI Film Academy programme, however, MTR will prioritise places for young people with the greatest need. For example:
