Schools - What Can We Do For You? Read on...!

Set up in 1998 with the sole purpose of training young people in film and video, Mouth That Roars has opened our first unique studio space, designed specifically for young people, Youth Groups and Schools.

We offer a range of programmes that can support your School and meet National Curriculum requirements for KS3 & 4, as well as offering creative approaches to support PSHE and Citizenship programmes.

" When a young person uses media, he or she has an opportunity to produce alternative viewpoints that challenge generalised perceptions, creating new ways of seeing and being seen. Young people bring thir own perspectives to creative projects, which in turn play a vital role in challenging common misconceptions about them. "

Our programmes:
All of our tailor made workshops use film and documentary as a tool to explore particular themes and encourage discussion and debate within the group. At the end of the workshops students will evaluate using our in-house camera equipment.

The following represent a sample of programmes we could offer you:

Making notes

PSHE and Citizenship Programmes
Human Rights and Me – international film workshops to engage debate on rights and reflect on the impact of inequality around the world.
Is Gender on the Agenda? – workshops exploring sexual and gender stereotypes through film.
One Race – workshops exploring race and cultural identity in modern society.

Media Studies
Video skills training – MTR’s hands on approach to all aspects of video training. Learn key skills in story boarding, camera, sound and editing. (More than one session is recommended for this programme).
Film History – Explore history of film and documentary and its impact on our lives.

You Choose!
MTR has an extensive array of films and documentaries to choose from, both made by young people or about youth issues. You are welcome to view our catalogue, discuss your requirements and we will build a programme to suit your groups learning needs.

After School
If your school is within close proximity to MTR Studio 23, then how about working in partnership with us to develop a film club or out of school project?

Refreshments
MTR Studio has café facilities onsite, offering discounted rates to young people and groups. Food and refreshments can be booked in advance, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Our Staff
MTR Studio 23 employs a qualified team who have extensive knowledge and experience in film and documentary training and have completed MTR’s child protection and equalities training.

Fees

Each programme can be run over half day, full day, half term or full term duration, depending on your schools needs.

Half day: £150 (£176.25 inclusive of VAT)
Full day: £250 (£293.75 inclusive of VAT)
Half term and full term programmes available on request.

We suggest 9am – 1pm for half day and 9am – 3pm for a full day but this can be tailored to suit your school day.
